Step-by-Step Guide: How to Make Your Vape Work

1. For DISPOSABLE Vapes (like the DROPOUT 3G):

These are designed for ultimate simplicity. There are no settings to adjust.

• How it works: They are draw-activated. This means there is no button. The device automatically turns on when you inhale through the mouthpiece.

• What to do:

  1. Unpackage the device.

  2. Remove any rubber or silicone plugs from the mouthpiece and/or the bottom (some have a plug over the charging port).

  3. Inhale directly from the mouthpiece. It should light up and produce vapor.

• Why it might not work:

  • The battery is dead. Even “disposable” vapes like the DROPOUT 3G often have a USB-C port for charging. Try charging it for 20-30 minutes, then try again.

  • It’s a dud/defective. Unfortunately, this can happen with any mass-produced electronic device.

  • It’s empty. If the flavor tastes burnt or weak and the vapor production is low, the e-liquid is depleted.

2. For BUTTON-ACTIVATED Vapes (Pods, Pens, Mods):

These devices have a button and often have adjustable settings.

A. Turning It On:

• Most devices are turned on by clicking the fire button 5 times quickly. The screen (if it has one) will light up, or an LED will flash.

• To turn it off, click the button 5 times quickly again.

B. Making It Fire:

• Press and hold the fire button while you inhale from the mouthpiece.

• Some devices also have a “draw-activated” mode even with a button. Consult your manual.

C. Adjusting the Settings (Wattage/Voltage):
This is the most common “setting” people need to change.

• What is Wattage/Voltage? This is the power level. Higher power = more vapor, warmer temperature, and stronger flavor. However, you must use the correct power for your specific coil.

• How to find the correct setting:

  1. Look at the coil itself. The coil (the part you screw into the device) will have its recommended wattage range printed directly on it (e.g., “Best 15-25W” or “30-40W”).

  2. Adjust your device. Use the +/- buttons on your device to set the wattage to the middle of your coil’s recommended range. (e.g., For a “15-25W” coil, start at 20W).

  3. Test and adjust. Take a puff. If it tastes weak or has little vapor, increase the wattage a little. If it tastes burnt or harsh, lower the wattage immediately.

D. Other Common Settings (on more advanced devices):

• Temperature Control (TC): This is for specific coil types (like Nickel-Ni200, Titanium-Ti, or Stainless Steel-SS). You must be in the correct TC mode for your coil material. If you are using standard coils, ignore TC mode and stay in Wattage/Power mode.

• Airflow Control: This is often a ring or dial near the top of the device or on the pod itself. Opening the airflow (turning it to allow more air) creates a looser draw, cooler vapor, and bigger clouds. Closing the airflow creates a tighter, cigarette-like draw, warmer vapor, and more intense flavor.

Troubleshooting: If Your Vape Still Isn’t Working

1. Is it charged? This is the #1 reason a vape won’t work. Charge it fully.

2. Is it turned on? Click the button 5 times to ensure it’s on.

3. Is the coil properly installed? Unscrew the tank/pod and ensure the coil is screwed in all the way.

4. Is the tank/pod making a connection? Clean the connection point between the tank and battery with a cotton swab.

5. Is it flooded? If you hear a gurgling sound, cover the mouthpiece with a paper towel and flick the device downward to force excess liquid out.

6. Prime a new coil! If you just replaced the coil in a refillable device, you must prime it: add a few drops of e-liquid directly into the cotton wick holes on the new coil before installing and filling the tank. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes after filling. This prevents immediate burning.

Important Safety Note: Always use the charger and batteries recommended for your device. Never carry loose batteries in your pocket where they can contact metal objects like keys or coins.
